Terms of Service

Welcome to Sprout. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Sprout mobile app and sprout-ventures.ch website, operated by Sprout Ventures ("we", "us", "our").

By using Sprout you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please don't use the app.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Sprout. Users between 13 and the age of digital consent in their jurisdiction (16 in most of the EU, 18 in some regions) must have parental or legal-guardian consent. If you are accessing Sprout on behalf of a minor, you confirm that you are the parent or legal guardian and accept these Terms on their behalf. If you are using Sprout on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation.

2. Your account

You're responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for any activity under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.

3. Free version, Premium & billing

Sprout is free to use. The free version includes nearly every feature and is supported by ads. Sprout Premium removes the ads and adds the AI features (such as meal scans, recipes and the coaches). It is sold through Apple In-App Purchase as a one-time Lifetime purchase ($39.99, launch price) or as a monthly subscription ($3.99/mo).

Lifetime is a single payment with no renewal. It is tied to your Apple ID and can be restored on a new device with Restore Purchase. The monthly subscription renews automatically until cancelled. You can cancel anytime in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions — cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period (no partial refunds for unused time). Existing yearly subscriptions keep renewing on their current terms until cancelled.

Prices are shown in your local currency as determined by Apple. Taxes are included or added at checkout where applicable.

4. Free periods and offers

Some offers, such as a friend's referral gift, include a free period on the monthly subscription. It converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled before it ends. Apple shows the exact terms before you confirm.

5. Not medical advice

Sprout is a wellness app, not a medical device. The information, recommendations, AI coach responses, recipe suggestions, sleep guidance, and any health-related content in Sprout are for general informational and educational purposes only. They are NOT medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before making changes to your diet, exercise, sleep medication, or any health-related routine. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you read in Sprout.

If you experience a medical emergency, contact your local emergency services immediately.

6. AI-generated content

Sprout uses AI to generate recipes, chat responses, and recommendations. AI output may contain inaccuracies, hallucinations, or be unsuitable for your specific situation. Use your judgment, verify ingredients for allergies, and consult professionals when in doubt. We make no warranty about AI output correctness.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from Sprout
• Use Sprout for any unlawful purpose
• Interfere with the service or attempt to bypass security controls
• Scrape, copy, or republish content from Sprout without permission
• Use Sprout to harass, harm, or defraud any person

8. Your content

You retain ownership of any content you submit (recipe preferences, chat messages, logged symptoms, profile pictures). You grant us a limited licence to process, store, and display that content as necessary to provide the service. We will never use your personal content for marketing without explicit consent.

9. Intellectual property

Sprout, Sprout Ventures, the Sprout mascot, all logos, illustrations, app icons, and software are the intellectual property of Sprout Ventures. You may not use any of these for commercial purposes without written permission.

10. Termination

You may terminate your account anytime via Settings → Delete Account. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. Surviving provisions (limitation of liability, IP ownership, governing law) continue after termination.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

Sprout is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI output will be accurate.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sprout Ventures shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of Sprout. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms occasionally. Material changes will be communicated via the app and email. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Zürich, Switzerland.
